Behind the scenes of EDGE East Side, Berlin.

Networking in the real estate and construction sector isn't just about exchanging market updates; it's about getting up close to developments and experiencing their transformation first-hand. This was the primary objective of a recent event hosted by the RE&C Berlin Network - an exclusive tour of the EDGE East Side development.

EDGE East Side is an architectural marvel conceptually designed by BIG - Bjarke Ingels Group and executed by AUKETT + HEESE, with a striking, angular design that overlooks the River Spree. The event, which was announced on our LinkedIn Group (see URL below) and raffled among our members, welcomed ten lucky participants from the network. It was a unique opportunity for them to gain an in-depth insight into the most recent transformation of Berlin's skyline.

During the tour, the EDGE team provided a comprehensive explanation of the development and guided us through the construction site. The tour went beyond superficial observations; it offered an immersive experience into the realm of thoughtful and sustainable urban development, leaving us all in awe of the development itself.

This event not only provided a glimpse of Berlin's evolving landscape, but also highlighted the importance of projects like EDGE East Side in shaping the city's future. It represents a fusion of innovation, e.g. the use of reduced carbon concrete on the upper structure in partnership with alcemy, sustainable development and urban transformation, demonstrating the possibilities when vision and commitment come together. Congratulations EDGE!

In a world where networking often takes place in sterile conference rooms, this experience was a breath of fresh air. It was a reminder that networking can be about witnessing change, connecting with people who share a passion for development, and appreciating the art and science behind urban design. The EDGE East Side tour was undeniably a remarkable and enlightening journey into the heart of urban metamorphosis.
